Heart to Heart
An ask column devoted to exploring the hard questions together
and offering encouragement and insight.
Created for community
"Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help."
Ecclesiastes 4.9-10
No one is meant to go through life alone. Vulnerability is hard and asking for help may not always be the easiest option. However, seeking wise counsel and a helping hand is not admitting failure, but instead recognising and embracing the way God created us, with an intrinsic desire for community.
God's design for the body of believers is not to function as isolated individuals, but to work together, encourage and spur one another on towards good deeds. Looking at Scripture, it’s clear that God wants us to acknowledge our need for community, not hide from it.
